Where is the normal dot file in windows 7

In my opinion, the normal template is a poor place to keep your macros. The only reason to have them there is if you want to edit them. When they are in an Add-In you have to actually open the Add-In to be able to edit them. There are only a few macros that would have to be in the normal template to work and those are not ones that you record. Automated Boilerplate Using Microsoft Word. I have a lot of macros and AutoCorrect entries that I use for work and rely heavily on them.

I've copied the normal. Word ignores this and continues to use the normal. I went so far as deleting the normal. I do not see the file at all in the Template folder. I've tried multiple times and am getting nowhere. I also tried only copying the Autocorrect entries and the same thing happens. I copied the MSO It also ignores this file. Now I'm wondering if there is something in Windows 10 or Word that is not permitting these changes to the Template and Office folders?

But that doesn't seem like it should be the case. I hope someone has the solution. Thank you. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
