After much research, I decided to Uninstall the Alcor 2.

I then rebooted. Plugging in the SD card now automounts, and lights a small green light on the card reader. Problem solved I had the same problem after getting the latest update for windows 10 the December Feature updates.

I tried all the fixes recommended such as manually updating drivers, using the troubleshooter, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, rebooting with the SD card in the slot etc. It was no hardware change nor manipulation after this, just windows 10 update.
